Interested in Changing your DNA? Start with Your Personality Pattern
Genomes which turn DNA strands on and off can only go in one direction at each stimulus….like a light switch.
Personality factors are a clue to where the genomes will run a DNA sequence. Think of it as how you are in your choices. What turns you on or off? The more often you choose certain ways of being in the world or decisions that create actions in your neurology, you set the pattern for the triggering switch to run that DNA program. That is a simplified view but very accurate.
Now think of the light switch idea again. The switch can be on or off ; unless of course you have installed dimmer switches-ha!
For the purpose of understanding a complex process, let’s assume it’s a traditional on / off switch. There is no in between, maybe or almost. Opposites in the decision making realm, as is the genome realm, mean that you can’t do both things at exactly the same time. For example, you can’t focus on the outer world and your inner world simultaneously. You may go back and forth quickly, but you can’t be in both places at once. Likewise, you can’t focus on details and the big picture at exactly the same time. You consider one, then the other.
This means that at any moment you have to choose which of the opposites to use. Over time you tend to choose one of the opposites in each element more often than the other. Even though you can and do use both of the opposites throughout your life, you don’t use them equally often or at the same time.
These choice points create personality patterns. The genomes are a part of the expression of that pattern. These choices may or may not serve you or they may just be serving those people or circumstances which SHAPED IT FOR YOU! The following choices are used in almost every personality assessment scale. We are using them to explore genomic choices.
Therefore, you may notice, as you look at the four areas below you can see or increase your awareness as to where your switches are dominated. Then you can choose rather than be groomed or shaped primarily by cultural demands.
I see your DNA evolution directly related to ) four factors, western wisdom calls epigenetics. (1) The levels of consciousness you have explored, (2) your awareness of and (3) your personal responsibility for life energy choices and (4) the level of surrounding support you receive to create and become your desired self.
As you go through the prompts below, ask yourself; “Is it my choice or a choice others have chosen for me?” Another way to explore yourself in this unconsciousness idea of genomes is to ask yourself'; “Is this the authentic me or what I must be to survive?” “…or to be loved?” “or to prevent shame and humiliation?” Decide for yourself: Is it me or from others? On or off?
*Please note: I have great skepticism with any generalized test results. I have more experience and faith in the observation that passion or the personal power born of the Soul, the Spirit and the of each individual will overrule any pattern when given the right opportunity. So why bother with this assessment at all?
Well. You have to start somewhere. Let’s face it. You grew up in a rule dominated, judgmental, labeling society-so let’s use those very same tools to dig out of that pattern that controlled and perhaps shaped in you a way of being that no longer fits, but is even causing pain.
Remember-use the following four areas of exploration not as your definition of self, but as a prompt to recognize patterns.
1.The way you direct and receive energy
You direct your energy toward...
...the outside world and get energized by interacting with people and taking action
Or
...your own inner world and get energized by reflecting on your ideas and experiences
2.The way you take in information
You take in information...
...that is real and tangible and focus mainly on what you perceive using your five senses
Or
...by seeing the the big picture and focus mainly on the patterns and interrelationships you perceive
3.The way you make decisions and come to conclusions
You base your conclusions on…
...logic, with accuracy and objective truth the primary goals
Or
...personal and social values, with understanding and harmony the primary goals
4.The way you approach the outside world
You approach the world with…
...decisiveness and tend to like planning and closure
Or
...flexibility and tend to like see opportunities
The next step is calling back your power, your passion and your spontaneous joy to create change toward your best self ! New choice patterns change your genomic switches, which in turn process into and create new DNA. Yep. That’s it.
*These four dominating personality factors research is based only with English as the primary and first language. This is very important related to the body of knowledge where I apply this data. Genomes and the triggers, issues and choices that develop them are shaped epigenetically by the culture and dominating authority in each area of your life. ( this is further explored in the Joyful Expectancy Series, Class Six: “Mother May I?” ). Also note that there are more than humanly measurable factors affecting DNA. These are not currently included in the body of knowledge called epigenetics. I believe they are unique and endlessly interesting-but beyond this discussion. I’d love to see your thoughts in the comments section!
